Sharkoon Silent Eagle SE 120mm & 80mm Fans
The Sharkoon Silent Eagle SE fans have several nifty ideas that help pull them ahead of the pack in regards to efficiency and noise, but the secondary fan speeds are too much hassle for too little gain.

Introduction

Generalization or not, PC fans typically look alike. Now, there are various reasons for this (size standardization, mostly), and you can sometimes find differences between different designs if you look hard enough; But at a glance there usually isn't much in the way of differences between one brand of fans or the next. As innovation is usually a rarity in this segment, it is refreshing to see a company like Sharkoon take the initiative and try to improve existing designs while staying within the limits imposed by size standardization.

Packaging

The Silent Eagle SE fans both come in the same type of packaging, largely being made up of cardboard boxes with a plastic window showing off the fan to the outside. The plastic window is actually part of the internal packaging which is common on many lower priced PC accessories. The front of the packaging has a nifty golf ball look to it which would be pretty nifty even if it wasn't directly related to the product itself.

80mm Package Front

As mentioned, other than dimensions, the packaging for both fans are identical.

120mm Package Front

The rear of the packaging mentions the feature list (in 8 languages) as well as a nice little set of graphics mentioning the RPM/Volts, the mA/Volts, and the noise to voltage ratio.

80mm Package Rear

The rear of the packaging for the 120mm fan has similar info with the charts specific to that fan.
