Logitech Wave Wireless Keyboard and Mouse
Ergonomic keyboards have usually been greeted with less than enthusiastic remarks from the mainstream crowd, but Logitech is taking a stab at something not so extreme. The Cordless Desktop Wave appears to be like the Swiss Army knife of input devices, but let's find out if this is this just a stab in the dark for Logitech.

Whether you use the computer for checking your e-mail, writing term papers, designing bridges, or playing 3D games, you undoubtedly spend a lot of time with your fingers on a keyboard and/or wrapped around a mouse.  Users are constantly on the lookout for keyboards that are quieter, more functional, and more comfortable.  Mice with better accuracy, reliability, functionality, and comfort are equally as sought after devices.  The Coordless Wave Desktop from Logitech seeks to fulfill many of these user needs in a new way.

The Coordless Dekstop Wave primarily includes the Wave keyboard and mouse, both of which are (as the name implies) wireless.  In addition to the expected keyboard and mouse, Logitech throws in four non-rechargeable AA batteries to power the two devices (each takes two batteries).  There is a printed installation manual, a utilities CD with the Logitech SetPoint software on it, and the USB Mini-reciever.

Logitech Wave Mini reciever

The mini-receiver can be plugged in directly to any USB port on the computer, or into the provided wired base.  With the mini-reciever connected directly into the back of the case out of clear view, the mouse and keyboard showed no signs of performance degradation. And for those with an apprehension towards wireless devices, we did not detect any lag while using the keyboard..  I never knew what kind of new opportunities were possible until I was able to use a wireless keyboard and mouse. The range of the Wave keyboard and mouse was very impressive too, but while we the keyboard performed great, we were not as geeked with the mouse.  Let's take a closer look and explain why.
