In recent years NZXT has gone from being the new kid on the block to an established vendor of quality products, primarily enclosures. They have since expanded their product lineup to include power supplies, gaming mice, notebook coolers, and, our focus today, fan controllers. While the enclosures of yester-year might come equipped with 2-3 fans, modern enthusiast chassis sometimes feature as many as 6 or more (Antec's Twelve Hundred is able to hold as many as 8, just on the chassis itself). While great from a cooling standpoint, this has presented enthusiast with a number of problems Issues of cable clutter, noise, even the problem of finding power for these many fans all must be overcome. Enter the fan controller.
Today we'll be taking a look at NZXTs top of the range controller, the Sentry-LX. This dual 5.25" bay controller is packed with features. The attractive black brushed aluminum housing occupies two 5.25" drive bays and surrounds a large multi-colored LCD. It features both automatic and user controlled modes, a temperature alarm, and 5 channel fan status and temperature readings, as well as a full calendar. Power to the fans is provided through 5 3-pin fan headers, 5 temperature probes are responsible for sending temp data to the unit. But is it all bling and no zing? Let's dive in and find out!

Inside the box we find nothing unexpected, the fan controller, users guide, and a baggie containing the battery (so the controller can retain settings while the system is powered down), two extra temperature probes, stickies to hold down the temp probes, and of course, a set of 4 screws.

Here we have a closer look at the extra probes and stickies. It would have been nice to see enough stickies for all the probes.
