CyberPower Gamer Xtreme XT System
Loaded with the latest tech, CyberPower's new gaming rig comes just in time for the holidays. With a price tag even Ebenezer Scrooge would find appealing, all that's left is the proper wrapping. We'll tell you if the end result deserves a shiny bow or a lump of coal.

One thing we've always appreciated about CyberPower is that the company uses off-the-shelf parts, freeing the end-user from needlessly frustrating (and costly) proprietary restrictions.  It's the same practice employed by boutique OEM vendors at a much higher price tag, but CyberPower manages to keep the tally competitive with what you would expect to pay at Newegg, sometimes even coming ahead of the popular DIY e-tailer.  It's this middle ground between bulk OEMs (think Dell and HP) and specialized boutique OEMs (Falcon Northwest and Velocity Micro) that CyberPower has carved a living for itself, providing a logical alternative for enthusiasts lacking the time or confidence to build their own machine.

CyberPower, Inc. was founded with two simple goals in mind. It is to provide our customers with both personalized cutting edge technology at wholesales prices and an extensive range of technological support. By being the manufacturer and the distributor, we are dedicated to meet your personalized desires with the highest performance for all your gaming and digital media solutions.

But no matter how well thought out the idea, it all comes down to implementation.  While we haven't been disappointed with the CyberPower machines we've reviewed in the past, we've yet to have our socks knocked off.  CyberPower's new Gamer Xtreme XT has the potential to do just that, utilizing Intel's freshly minted Core i7 platform, a smokin' fast HIS Radeon HD 4870 X2 videocard, and a Blu-ray burner all wrapped up in an affordable package.  Keep reading to find out if this newest addition to CyberPower's gaming lineup dazzles or disappoints.
