"Founded in 1986, GIGABYTE started as a research and development team and has since taken the lead in the world's motherboard and graphics accelerator markets. To truly reach out to all consumers, GIGABYTE further expanded its product portfolio to include more diverse digital products such as Notebook and desktop PCs, digital home appliances, networking servers, communications, mobile and handheld devices, servicing every facet of people's lives at home or at work." - Gigabyte Corporate Profile

Where most people might know Gigabyte for their motherboards or video cards, the company has products in all categories of technology. Today we will be looking at their new GM-M8000, a high-performance laser gaming mouse. Even though Logitech and Razer dominate the gaming peripheral business, Gigabyte decided to jump in the game. But does their mouse pack the punch necessary to compete with the big dogs?

Bundled in the 8000’s box are the manual, software, Teflon feet, weights and a holding case, and the mouse itself. After removing the mouse from its secure packaging, we find nearly six feet of braided USB cord, ending with a gold connector. We appreciate the braided touch in all high end mice; it looks good and makes it easy to distinguish from other USB devices.
There are four weights: one 20g and three 6g, along with a small metal case with padding inside. We really appreciate this because the mouse is like a feather on its own. By adding weights, it allowed us to have more control in both games and general use.
